How to Hit a Bong?

A bong is a device that is used to smoke herbs or tobacco by filtering the smoke through water. Bongs come in different shapes, sizes and materials, but they all have a few basic components: a bowl, a stem, a chamber and a mouthpiece. Bongs can provide a smoother and cooler smoking experience than other methods, but they also require some practice and preparation. In this blog post, we will explain how to hit a bong properly and safely.

What You Need

Before you start, make sure you have the following items:

  • A bong of your choice. You can buy one online or at a local head shop, or you can make your own from household items like plastic bottles or glass jars. However, be careful with homemade bongs as they may not be safe or durable.
  • Some herb or tobacco of your choice. You can use any kind of dried plant material that you enjoy smoking, but make sure it is legal and safe in your area. Avoid using anything that is too moist, sticky or powdery as it may clog the bong or burn unevenly.
  • A grinder or scissors. You will need to break up your herb or tobacco into small pieces that can fit into the bowl of the bong. A grinder is the best tool for this, but you can also use scissors or your fingers.
  • A lighter or matches. You will need to light the herb or tobacco in the bowl of the bong. A lighter is the most convenient option, but you can also use matches or a hemp wick.
  • Some water. You will need to fill the chamber of the bong with water to filter the smoke. You can use tap water, bottled water or distilled water, but avoid using anything that is carbonated, flavored or contains alcohol as it may damage the bong or affect the taste of the smoke.

How to Prepare the Bong

Once you have everything you need, follow these steps to prepare the bong for smoking:

  1. Fill the chamber of the bong with water until it covers the stem by about an inch. You can adjust the water level according to your preference, but make sure it is not too high or too low. Too much water will make it harder to draw the smoke and may splash into your mouth, while too little water will not filter the smoke enough and may make it harsher.
  2. Pack the bowl of the bong with your herb or tobacco. Use your grinder or scissors to break up your material into small pieces that can fit into the bowl. Do not pack it too tightly or too loosely, as this will affect the airflow and the burning of the material. A good rule of thumb is to fill the bowl about three-quarters full and gently press it down with your finger.
  3. Attach the bowl to the stem of the bong and make sure it is secure. Some bongs have removable bowls that you can screw on or off, while others have fixed bowls that are part of the stem. If your bowl has a hole on the side called a carb, cover it with your thumb or finger.

How to Smoke from the Bong

Now that your bong is ready, follow these steps to smoke from it:

  1. Hold the bong in one hand and place your mouth over the mouthpiece. Make sure your lips form a tight seal around it and do not inhale yet.
  2. Light the herb or tobacco in the bowl with your lighter or matches. Hold the flame close to the material but do not touch it directly. As you light it, gently inhale through your mouth to draw the smoke into the chamber of the bong. You should see bubbles forming in the water as you do this.
  3. Continue inhaling until you fill the chamber with smoke or until you reach your desired amount. You can control how much smoke you get by adjusting how fast you inhale and how long you light the material.
  4. Remove your mouth from the mouthpiece and exhale any smoke that is in your lungs. If your bowl has a carb, uncover it as you do this to clear any remaining smoke from the chamber.
  5. Inhale again from the mouthpiece to take in the smoke that is in the chamber. Hold it in your lungs for a few seconds before exhaling it slowly and smoothly.
  6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 until you finish smoking from the bowl or until you are satisfied
