A glass bong is a device that uses water to cool and filter the smoke from burning herbs or tobacco, producing a smooth and potent hit. However, using a glass bong can also be noisy and smelly, especially if you don’t want to draw attention to your smoking session. Here are some tips on how to use a glass bong without making too much noise or smell.
Choose a Quiet Place
The first step is to choose a quiet place where you can smoke without disturbing anyone. Ideally, you want a place that is well-ventilated, has a window or a fan, and has some background noise to mask the sound of the bong. For example, you can smoke in your bedroom with the door closed, the window open, and some music playing. Avoid smoking in places that are close to other people, such as living rooms, kitchens, or bathrooms.
Prepare Your Bong
The next step is to prepare your bong for smoking. You will need the following items:
- A glass bong. Make sure it has a downstem and a bowl that fit well.
- Some water. You can use bottled or tap water.
- Some herbs or tobacco. You can use a grinder to break them up or use your fingers or scissors.
- A lighter or hemp wick. Hemp wick is a natural alternative to lighters that produces less smell and butane.
To prepare your bong, follow these steps:
- Pour water into the mouthpiece of the bong until the waterline is above the base of the downstem but below the bowl. You can also put some ice cubes in the water to make the smoke cooler and smoother.
- Grind or break up your herbs or tobacco and fill the bowl with about half a gram. Don’t pack it too tightly or it will be harder to draw.
- Place your mouth inside the mouthpiece of the bong, creating a tight seal with your lips.
Smoke Your Bong
The final step is to smoke your bong. To do this, follow these steps:
- Hold a flame over the bowl and inhale slowly and steadily. You can use a lighter or hemp wick to light your herbs or tobacco. As you inhale, you will see the smoke bubbling up through the water and filling the chamber of the bong.
- When the chamber is full of milky-white smoke, pull out the bowl or take your finger off the carb (the hole on the side of the bong) and inhale the rest of the smoke from the chamber into your lungs.
- Exhale slowly and gently through your nose or mouth. Try not to cough or blow out too hard as this will make more noise and smell.
